Broughton windTalker
Welcome to the
windTalker Homepage
A windTalker is an automatic, remote weather station, specifically
designed to relay wind and weather information to subscribers or the
general public via phone.

Weather data is captured using a WS2300 weather station and then
processed and stored using a microcontroller. A mobile phone module is
connected to the microcontroller and users can receive up to the minute
wind and weather information by calling the mobile phone.

The weather information is typically used by hill walkers, climbers and
paraglider pilots etc.

Much effort goes into ensuring the wind and weather information
supplied is completely accurate, however there is no guarantee that it is
correct. Paraglider and hanglider pilots should use their own judgement
when deciding if it is safe to fly.
windTalkers are being updated
and repaired so are not
opperating for now.
